  • Athens

Athens is home to the University of Georgia. The city has long enjoyed a reputation of being the intellectual and cultural center of Georgia. Athens has a robust music scene. In fact, its music scene is recognized worldwide for having helped give rise to popular bands such as the B-52's, R.E.M. and Widespread Panic. Athens boasts a remarkable downtown filled with opportunities to shop, eat, read, or sit back and enjoy live music. Athens also claims 14 historic districts and 35 other sites listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

  • Calhoun

Calhoun's best feature may be its simple beauty. Situated in the northwest corner of Georgia, Calhoun offers visitors the opportunity to slow down and absorb the magnificent rivers and rolling hills that serve as the hallmark of this region. The Chattahoochee National Forest and the John's Mountain Wildlife Management Area present the chance to fish, hike, and explore. Gainesville's pretty location at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and on the shores of popular Lake Lanier make it a popular recreation destination. Lake Lanier offers over 500 miles of shoreline, golf courses, horseback trails, campgrounds, and even a water park- perfect for families.

  • Macon

Macon offers many of the amenities of a large city without sacrificing sincere friendliness, or losing sight of its rich culture. As a result, the city greets visitors with a warm welcome, and a surprisingly diverse selection of activities. The Georgia Music Hall of Fame is a popular stop. This is the place people such as Little Richard, James Brown, Otis Redding and the Allman Brothers Band launched their careers. Sports fans will be thrilled with the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame. This modern, impressive complex includes a research center, beautiful theater, interactive sports area, as well as a Hall of Fame Corridor.

  • Madison

Like many southern towns, Madison flourished on the cotton economy, and wealthy planters built large homes here. It boasts the largest designated historic district in Georgia. Brick sidewalks, well-maintained storefronts, and beautiful planters set the stage for charming specialty shops, local art shops, and casual dining. The town square is full of stately magnolias and anchors the downtown district. An extensive array of recreational opportunities can be found at the nearly 6,000-acre Hard Labor Creek State Park. While best known for its wonderful golf course, it also offers 22 miles of horseback riding trails, a lakeside beach, hiking, cottages and camping.

  • Rome

Rome proudly displays a bustling downtown full of fine antique shops, and unique specialty stores. The abundance of rich Victorian architecture and a stately clock tower only add to the city's appeal. Rome is often described as place that has melded the charm of a small town charm with the opportunities of a big city. For those looking for recreational activity, Rome's three rivers offer an abundance of kayaking, fishing, and boating opportunities. Rome takes great pride in maintaining several walking and running paths too.
