Southern belle of a city, Savannah, sits seaside, well-stocked with cultural attractions, historic sites and if you believe what they say, the occasional ghostly visitor.
The "Center of the World" historic site/monument honors the location of the Cherokee Indian assembly ground. It was there that the Cherokees met to hold their tribal council and met with traders from Augusta and other southern locations. The Native Americans bartered hides, furs and blankets with the traders. The area was inhabited by Native Americans until a treaty with the Cherokee Indians was signed.
