Boating, skiing, trophy fishing, swimming, and other water sports are avaliable at Lake Blackshear. A national bass fishing tournament is hosted annually. The Retreat at Lake Blackshear and the Georgia Vetrans State Park are located at the lake, along with several restaurants recognized by Southern Living Magazine.
