In addition to miles of sand fringed with beach grass and cooled by salt breezes, Cumberland Island National Seashore is the spot to star-gaze, hike meandering trails, bird-watch and catch cultural sights, all within easy reach of the Landmark Historic District of Jekyll Island, to the north.
The gardens and nursery of Picadilly Farm have been developed over the past 17 years and feature hostas, hellebores, perennials, native flowers, camellias, unusual shrubs, and dwarf conifers. Gardens and nursery are open only on Thurs, Fri, & Sat - April to mid-June and mid-Sept through Oct 10am to 4pm (unless special arrangements have been made, groups call in advance, bus parking is available).
